"When school closed suddenly in March [due to the outbreak of COVID-19] Boston students not only lost the daily connection to teachers and learning, but dental services that the city’s most vulnerable children depend on for critical care."

In the October 19, 2020 issue of the Boston Globe, veteran journalist Meghan E. Irons, dives into the importance of school-based dental health programs and access to care for public school students. Read more on the connection between lack of routine dental care and poor oral health, learning loss and the risk of chronic illnesses.

The Children's Dental Network is proud to be celebrating 27 years providing oral health prevention and education to the children in our communities!!

The mission of the Children's Dental Network is to improve oral health for children in the Greater Derry area through education, delivery of services and facilitation of improved access to oral health services.

At Children’s Dental Network, we make kids happier and healthier by introducing them to good dental habits at an early age. Together with school districts throughout the Greater Derry and Salem areas, we make obtaining dental care easy and affordable by providing free and low-cost dental screenings, cleanings, sealants, temporary fillings and fluoride treatments during school hours. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to review and print a permission form for your student or child.

Our educational programs give teachers the resources they need to help their students learn about good oral health and our in-school dental presentations teach them how to have a healthy smile that will last a lifetime. Most importantly, we help children become comfortable with visiting the dentist. Now that’s really something to smile about!

Whether you’re a parent, an educator, a sponsor or a dentist, we look forward to working together with you! Also, don’t forget to brush and floss every day and visit the dentist for regular check-ups – a healthy smile will last a lifetime!
